Randy was born and raised in Georgia. He has been a Christian since November 15, 1984. He attended Clemson University, where he was a linebacker for the Clemson Tigers football team. He received his bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences. Randy went on to get his master’s degree and doctorate degree from the University of Florida in educational leadership. In 2002, he was awarded “Teacher of the Year” for the state of Florida for his work at P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School. Randy and his wife, Teresa, were married in 1982 and have five children. Teresa is currently the Public Works Director for the City of Gainesville.
