We have been serving the residents of the Emeritus Assisted Living Facility for 3 years. The service is held every Sunday morning at 9:30 and consists of a short sermon, singing, prayer and fellowship. In the last 3 years, we have seen 4 individuals baptized and added to God’s kingdom, all over the age of 70. Our oldest member is now 93. Most of them are not physically able to attend our main worship service at Gainesville Christian Church on a weekly basis. On Tuesdays, we have a Bible Talk for the residents with an average of 10-15 attending. The residents who attend are very communicative and appreciate hearing lessons from the scriptures. The 1st Wednesday of every month, there is also a “Cookies and Conversation” event which is a social gathering for the residents with members from our congregation in attendance to interact with the residents. The men and women of this facility appreciate the work being done there and show us a great deal of love. It is a pleasure to serve them in this capacity.
